SPRING TRAIL RIDE
Was Held
SUNDAY JUNE 1, 2008
MASON, NH
ALL BREEDS WELCOME ~ NEHT AFFILIATED
We had lovely weather, and many
participants.
Many thanks to all who helped.
Special thanks go to Laura Susmann for arranging the ride!
Mother Nature smiled Sunday, June 1 as 30 riders and their horses enjoyed a New Hampshire Arabian Horse Association trail ride in Mason, NH. Marie Pilotte chose a great combination of railroad bed, woods trails and dirt roads when designing a 12 mile route for riders to enjoy. Unfortunately, vandals altered markers so several riders were off course momentarily but all riders returned safely.
Riders in attendance included NHAHA President Laurie Bissonette riding Serr Auto, her 11 year old half-Arabian along with D. Durocher riding Surprise, a lovely Clydesdale mare.
A Region 16 legend, MI Canadius, owned and ridden by AHANE President Donna Conklin joined us as well. "Mikey" is a 21 year old purebred Arabian who rides, drives and has attained his Legion of Honor award. Will we see Donna and Mikey at the Region 16 CTR in November? Entirely possible!
Marcy Gamester and friends Rosemary Huson and Doug Oldham also joined us riding Traveler's Times Two,
Grove Hill Shaakar and Anchor Hill Alan, respectively.
Many thanks to the volunteers who made this ride possible: Marie Pilotte
for an excellent choice of trails, JoAnn Pilkington for manning the
snack stop and Sarah Theroux for providing a hearty lunch for the
returning riders.
Respectfully submitted,
Laura Susmann
